More good reasons to choose Care in Hand (CSSIW report)

An external assessment of Care in Hand's Narberth and Wooden Office noted that clients feel safe being looked after by our "competent and confident" staff.

The unannounced inspection was carried out by the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) in August.

The inspection report - which can be viewed in full on the CSSIW website - recognised our commitment to "continuously striving to improve and develop" our service, and to listening to and acting upon feedback from our clients and their families.

"Care in Hand (CiH) clients experience appropriate, responsive care from staff who have an up-to-date understanding of their individual needs and preferences," the inspector said. "Clients can feel safe and know their property is respected and protected [...] and staff are competent and confident."

The report also highlighted our well-organised and comprehensive client records, the regular spot checks undertaken by our senior field supervisors, and the "excellent" training we provide for our employees, both new and established.

"Any concerns were well reported [...] and people on the whole can feel their individual needs are recognised and catered for," the inspector added.

Relatives of clients interviewed during the inspection described our staff as "very good" and "marvellous people".

"I'm extremely proud of our performance in this unannounced inspection," said CiH's Narberth Office Registered Manager, Marc Davies. "As the report noted, we do a great job of caring for our clients and we are always looking at how we can improve our service. Well done, Narberth team. Let's keep up the good work and see if we can do even better next time!"

Julia Sharp, the Wooden Office Manager also praised her team saying "I'm very proud of both the carers on the ground and the team in the office who support them. Our quality assurance questionnaires show service users are happy with the quality of care, that they would be confident in raising a concern with Care in Hand and that they would be listened to; yes, I'm very pleased so well done everyone!"
